To me, being a doula is a deeply fulfilling vocation that centers on providing emotional, physical, and informational support to birthing individuals and their families.

My passion as a doula stems from my birth and postpartum experiences with my two children.

I had a long, hard labor and delivery experience with my first child that ended with a cesarean birth. I found out later in my pregnancy with my second child what a doula was, but I didn’t know much about what doulas actually did. I ended with a cesarean birth again, followed by a horrible postpartum experience. I know how much I would have benefited from having a doula there to help me, and this drives me to be the best support person for other expecting families. I am thankful now for the pain and suffering that I went through, because without it I wouldn’t have found my passion to become a doula and to help mothers and families.

When bringing a child into the world and into your family, everyone and everything is affected in some way. I want to help make that transition to be the smoothest experience possible – from the very beginning – so you have more energy to love yourself, your baby, and your family. As a doula, friend, and a mom, I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to be fully informed on everything their bodies are going through. Everyone deserves a doula to help them experience the birth that they dream of having.

I believe having an empowering birth will help parenthood and postpartum start off on the right step. Considering how much your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves go through during the process, I know that every little bit helps. Being here and being a doula is what I am meant to do.
