Mary Homola

I have a deep love for mothers and babies and the special bond that connects them. Birth is a sacred space, and I am humbled each and every time I am invited into this space. As a doula I believe in the power of knowledge, strength, and connection; providing current and relevant information about the birthing process so that the parents have the knowledge to make informed decisions that work best for each family. I believe in empowering the mother to utilize the innate strength and wisdom within them. I believe in nurturing the energetic connection between the baby and parents.

I will hold space for your birth journey, whatever that looks like for you.

As a mother and grandmother, I am happiest surrounded by my beautiful family. After staying home with my children and supporting them as they grew up and away, I began my own journey when they left home. I began by taking Dynamic Structure Balancing classes with Ann Turnquist, LMT at Northwood Technical College in Ashland, WI. This piqued my interest in the amazing connection between the body and the mind and the powerful ways the body can heal itself. To further my knowledge in the workings of our body, I enrolled in Lake Superior College and completed the Physical Therapist Assistant program in May of 2022. As Dr. Carol Phillips, DC began integrating additional instructors into her Dynamic Body Balancing curriculum, Ann Turnquist, LMT again guided me in my 100-hour workshop certification. I am a DONA certified birth doula, trained to support beautiful families as they bring their loved ones into our world.  I am a certified Body Ready Method pro®. As a BRM pro® I have a deep understanding of how to help you prepare for your desired birth. I can also help you address and minimize pregnancy-related aches and pains.

When I am not witnessing the profound changes in my clients and experiencing the miracle of birth, I can be found exploring the beautiful north shore with Doug, my husband of 32 years. We love a good hike or bike trail and often end our adventures on the shores of Lake Superior, searching for that elusive agate.
