Dana Morrison
I have a dream that every birthing family in our community has access to a doula. As the principal director of Doulas of Duluth, I primarily see myself as a community organizer. I am an activist, an advocate, and a change maker. I bring birth workers such as childbirth educators, perinatal health specialists, and birth and postpartum doulas together to create an inclusive space where birthing people and their families are at the center.
My own experience with a doula who held sacred space for me inspires me to do the same for my clients. I offer comfort and support to families, granting them room to explore their own beliefs and find their own voices. I believe in nourishing the body and soul, whether it's reassuring a client about their pregnancy journey, educating them about birth options, or preparing healing meals for a nursing parent.
I am a mother, a mentor, and a champion for social and health justice.
I am dedicated to being relaxed and easygoing while taking my work seriously.
I am transparent with my words and work, listening with open ears and an open heart.
With the team at Doulas of Duluth and the wide network of perinatal support professionals in our community, I hope to co-create a future in which all birthing people have choice and power.
